Bluegrass Week was awesome!  Everything from the busking at the Farmer's Market to the final sold out concert at the Bassment, oh what a wonderful time...

Saturday, May 18 is World Fiddle Day
To celebrate the joy of fiddle music, head down to the Farmers' Market in Saskatoon.  Bring your instrument and gather with musicians of all skill levels for a few fiddle tunes at 10:30 near the covered area outside.  Tunes will be: Maple Sugar, Red Wing, Boil 'em Cabbages, Rubber Dolly and Joys of Quebec.  Accompanists welcome!!

Wednesday Night Jams at D'Lish
Have you heard about these new jams happening at D'Lish? (3way corner, Landsdowne and Temperance)  Every Wednesday there is a different theme, and the fourth Wednesday of the month (May 22), is an Old Time jam!  Fun!  Check out the poster here.

Saskatoon Bluegrass Society Jam
Don't miss out on the regular last Friday of the month jams with the SBS, held at the St. Paul's Nurses' Residence from 7 to 10 pm.  Doors are only monitored until 715, so don't be late.  Check out the SBS website for more details.

Bluegrass Week - May 4 to 10, 2013

This year we are featuring one of Canada's favourite Bluegrass groups, The Foggy Hogtown Boys.  From Toronto, the group played Northern Lights Festival and taught Music Camp back in 2011 and we are VERY excited to host them again in Saskatoon for Bluegrass Week.

Bluegrass Busking to Help Send a Kid to Music Camp - Music from the heart all day at the Saskatoon Farmer's Market.  Email us if you would like to sign up to busk!

Sunday, May 5
Northern Lights Bluegrass and Old Tyme Music Festival Auditions - 1 to 5 pm at The Bassment (202-4th Ave N), $5.  For more info or to sign up, see our Facebook page

Monday, May 6
A Gospel Evening with the Saskatoon Bluegrass Society - Featuring music by Ken Olson & Friends with an SBS style circle jam to follow. 7:30 to 10 pm at The Bassment, $5  

Tuesday, May 7
Join us for the Northern Lights Music Hall radio program on CFCR 90.5 fm in Saskatoon, cfcr.ca for live streaming.  The show starts at 11 am CST.

Wednesday, May 8 to Friday, May 10
Bluegrass in the Schools with The Foggy Hogtown Boys - Saskatoon & area students are treated to workshops about bluegrass music!
